$1,000,001 Verdict - Supermarket’s Negligent Failure to Maintain Portable Loading Dock

A New Jersey jury awarded a man $1,000,001 for an on-the-job injury -- the result of a poorly maintained loading dock. George Badey and Michael DiGenova represented the plaintiff.


Sheller Spurred Investigation Restores Ringwood Site to NPL

On April 16, 2006, Ringwood Mines/Landfill site became the first site to be added to the National Priorities List after being removed from the list. The decision to restore Ringwood's Superfund status came after an investigation that was initiated by Mr. Sheller.

Jonathan Shub Serves as Co-Lead Counsel in Massive Class Action Against Maytag

Jonathan Shub of the Sheller firm served as one of three co-lead counsel in the Maytag Neptune Class Action. The law suit was settled in August of 2004, and the Court granted the final approval order in November. Eligible class members could apply to receive repair reimbursements, replacement costs up to $500, and/or washing machine purchase certificates up to $1000.


$42.5 Million Common Fund Settlement in the Fujitsu Hard Drive Litigation

Jonathan Shub and Scott Alan George were part of the national litigation team that secured a $42.5 million dollar common fund settlement in the Fujitsu Hard Drive Litigation. The settlement received final judicial approval earlier this year. Included in the recovery for persons whose computers contained a Fujitsu MPG3 drive were fair replacement value and reimbursement for data recovery expenses.


$29.6 Million Settlement Announced in the Pier 34 Collapse

A $29.6 million settlement in the Pier 34 collapse was announced on January 28, 2004. The pier owner, a nightclub operator, and other defendants agreed to the settlement to end all personal-injury claims related to the May 18, 2000, tragedy in which three women were killed and 40 people were injured. Jamie Sheller, Esq., represents one of the injured.


$1.06 Million Settlement Reached in Complex Product Liability Case

$10.1 Billion Tobacco Verdict Paves Way for Philadelphia Counsel

Illinois Judge ordered Philip Morris USA to pay $10.1 billion in the first "light cigarette" consumer fraud class-action lawsuit to come to trial alleging a tobacco company committed consumer fraud in its advertising of light cigarettes. Heath Care Workers' Benefits Protected

George Badey recently won a unanimous decision in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court reversing over 20 years of Commonwealth Court precedent, which had denied benefits to health care workers, holding them to a different standard than all other workers in unemployment compensation cases. The case was featured on the front page of the January 14, 2002 Pennsylvania Law Weekly and on the front page of the January 4, 2002 Legal Intelligencer and received coverage in national nursing journals. Bruce Ludwig participated on behalf of District Council 1199P of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) a union of health care workers, which represents approximately 14,000 employees in Pennsylvania. $3.85 Million Awarded Over Electrical Burns

"After deliberating for about seven hours, a Philadelphia common pleas jury decided that a local hospital was 100 percent negligent in causing a newborn's cerebral edema and subsequent cerebral palsy.
